थारु समुदाय मुख्यतया नेपाल र भारतको तराई क्षेत्रमा बसोबास गर्ने आदिवासी जनजाति समूह हो। तिनीहरूको आफ्नै संस्कृति, परम्परा, र नयाँ वर्ष सहित विभिन्न चाडहरू मनाउने तरिकाहरू छन्।

थारु समुदायमा नेपाली क्यालेन्डर अनुसार माघ (जनवरीफेब्रुअरी) महिनामा नयाँ वर्ष मनाइन्छ । सही मिति प्रत्येक वर्ष फरक हुन्छ, किनकि यो चन्द्र पात्रोमा आधारित हुन्छ। नयाँ वर्षको उत्सवलाई "माघी" भनेर चिनिन्छ र यो महत्त्वपूर्ण छ थारु समुदायका लागि

चामलको पिठोले बनाइएका रङ्गोली रङ्गोलीले घरको सरसफाई र सजाउने र घरको प्रवेशद्वारमा रंगीन फूलहरू झुण्ड्याएर माघी पर्व सुरु हुन्छ । नयाँ वर्षको दिन मानिसहरु बिहान सबेरै उठ्ने, नुहाउने र नयाँ लुगा लगाउने गर्छन् । तिनीहरूले आफ्ना देवता र देवीहरूलाई प्रार्थना गर्छन्, नयाँ वर्षको लागि आशीर्वाद खोज्दै।

नमाज पछि, मानिसहरूले एकअर्कालाई मिठाई, फलफूल र नयाँ लुगाहरू जस्ता अभिवादन र उपहारहरू आदानप्रदान गर्छन्। नयाँ वर्षको शुभकामना र आशीर्वादको प्रतीकका रूपमा परिवारका साना सदस्यहरूलाई "सगुन" भनिने नगद दिने चलन पनि छ।

माघी पर्वको मुख्य विशेषता मध्येको एउटा परम्परागत नृत्य "माघी नाच" हो। मानिसहरू परम्परागत थारु पहिरनमा सजिएर मादल र सारंगी जस्ता परम्परागत वाद्ययन्त्रको तालमा नाच्छन्। नाच महिला र पुरुष दुबैले प्रस्तुत गर्ने गर्दछ र यसले थारु समुदायको सांस्कृतिक सम्पदा र पहिचानको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दछ।

अन्तमा, थारु समुदायले आफ्नो नयाँ वर्ष, माघी भनेर चिनिने, ठूलो उत्साह र आनन्दका साथ मनाउँछन्। उत्सवमा घरहरू सफा र सजाउने, प्रार्थना गर्ने, अभिवादन र उपहारहरू आदानप्रदान गर्ने, र परम्परागत नृत्य प्रदर्शन समावेश छ।

The Tharu people group is a native gathering who basically live in the Terai area of Nepal and India. They have their own exceptional culture, customs, and approaches to celebrating various celebrations, including their new year.

There is likewise a custom of giving money, known as "Sagun," to the more youthful individuals from the family as a badge of best of luck and gifts for the new year.

One of the critical elements of the Maghi festivity is the conventional dance called."Maghi Nach."
